In fifth round of the 11th International Chess Festival we witnessed thrilling matches. In the clash of leaders IM Shota Azaladze took the full point. Using dark square weaknesses in the opponents camp IM Shota Azaladze won an exchange and finished the party with excellent technique. On the other hand experienced Turkish player Aydın Duman managed to hold draw against GM Alexander Karpatchev in a two pawn down rook ending. If we look at the standings after fifth round we see that IM Shota Azaladze is leading with full point . He is being followed by two players GM Levon Babujian and GM Alexei Barsov with 4.5 points. Sixth round will start tomorrow at 16.30.
