3rd Round: Surprises Continue !!!

In the third round of the 11th International Istanbul Chess Festival suprising results took place. Badrakh Galmandakh’s win against experienced grandmaster Alexander Karpatchev and Kuanyshbek Dzhumadullayev’s win against GM Gevorg Haruntunjan were the two shocking surprises of the round. Victories of Turkish youngsters against their strong opponents got attention. In the end of the third round, Ukrainian grandmaster Nazar Firman took the lead. If we look at the surprising results in last two rounds we expect remaining rounds to contain real fighting spirit.
